Shepherd's Center South is 100% volunteer operated - so you are needed!
We need some of your time. We can use you a few hours a week or a month, any day Monday - Thursday, between 10 AM - 2 PM. We will work around your schedule.
Current opportunities to serve include:
Photographer:
Like to take pictures? We need a photographer ... it's easy and fun.
Friendly Visitors:
Volunteers visit with shut-ins to give a friendly ear when needed.
Ding-A-Ling Program:
Volunteers make periodic calls to shut-ins or someone just needing a lift in their spirit.
Medical and Grocery Transportation: Volunteers provide rides to medical visits and grocery store trips. Call at least one week in advance. Service is available in central and southeast Charlotte.
Handy Hands Services: Volunteers perform small repairs to help keep older homes safe and livable. Services donation is $10.00 + supplies. Service is available in central and southeast Charlotte.
Education:
If you have ideas about topics and speakers for the future programs, volunteers are needed for the planning committee.
Computer Instructors:
If you like to help people feel comfortable and find their way, we need facilitators for each class room - its fun and you'll meet a lot of people!
Travel:
If you like to organize travel, the Traveling Shepherds needs you.
Bridging the Gap:
An intergenerational program with Teens and Kids.
Office Help:
If you like to help with mailings and participate in communications - there is lots to do.
